Client project for The Plated Project and Antiquity Discoveries at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

In January of 2024, fellow creative technologist MYLES (@aaronmylespereira) invited me to collaborate on the development of an interactive installation for the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF). The project was ideated by The Plated Project, who work with artists to re-imagine everyday objects into functional works of art that drive awareness and sponsor meals for the vulnerable. For this years KGAF, The Plated Project worked with artists from the cities of Mumbai, Jaipur, Goa and Kolkata to curate an amazing catalog of artworks that depict the sense of the respective cities.
We were tasked with taking the Mumbai artwork by Aashti Miller (@millerink.graphics), an architect and illustrator and translate it into an interactive and immersive experience. The guests would discover the city of Mumbai through an interplay of a worm's eye and a bird's eye perspective through this timeless piece. Through the experience, the guests take on the role of Antiquity's mascot, the Blue Heron and fly through the different layers of the artwork by flapping their wings. Once they have completed a fly-through, the artwork rotates to reveal a new perspective of this hustling and bustling city depicted in the piece.
